After a disaster has occurred, the chaos that can ensue makes it difficult to place volunteers in the positions where they can be most effective. The first responders in charge of the situation want to deploy individuals that they know are interested and can do the job right. Registering with United Response will allow these organizations to check your credentials and either refer you to an organization that needs your skills, or directly deploy you to a disaster response situation.
